Flutter Developer

This can be a remote position, but the preferred location is Bristol, UK.

About the role

We’re hiring for a hardworking and self-motivated Flutter developer who thrives on developing innovative and easy to use applications. You’ll work independently, proactively and will have the opportunity to try new technologies and to seek out new solutions to the multitude of challenges you’ll face in a fast-paced, tech startup environment. You’ll be part of a company that values teamwork, teaching and learning from your co-workers.

At Virti, we are building the best learning tools globally, using the latest VR/AR/AI technologies. By joining our existing core platform team, you'll own the migration of our existing app over to Flutter and continue to improve it with new features.


What you’ll do

  • Migrate our existing mobile application to Flutter.
  • Develop new features based on customer feedback.
  • Make technology decisions and contribute to product strategy.
  • Integrate with the rest of the wider tech team. It will be required of you to work with team members to coordinate the development of a feature together.
  • Testing and bug fixing.
  • Work in an agile environment.
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments of Flutter and other app development frameworks.
  • You will be modifying, testing, and implementing UI and widgets with sophisticated state and design requirements on a day-to-day basis.


Who you are

  • Experienced as a close collaborator with the product, creative, and business partners, and seen projects through from start to finish, managing deadlines and customer expectations.
  • Experienced in developing and shipping commercial Flutter projects.
  • Experienced with hosting native iOS and Android views inside Flutter.
  • Excellent Dart programming skills.
  • Skilled in layout using widgets.
  • Knowledgeable of Git.
  • Familiar with offline data persistence (SQLite, Core Data).
  • Experienced working with Error reporting and Automated testing tools.

  • Coachable and curious and have a strong passion for learning.
  • A great communicator (verbal and written) and relationship skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience with unit, widget and integration testing.
  • Familiarity with GraphQL.
  • Familiarity with native iOS and Android development and deployment to the app stores.
  • Familiarity with Unity.
